Yesterday I had a crazy experience. While driving I was headed to go pick up some more things at the old house, I came up on a truck and trailer that was on the side of the road....engulfed in flames!! (the trailer was)...I saw two men Frantically trying to unhook the trailer, and just as I passed by I heard a scream and saw the guy grab his arm...I knew he had burned his arm, and knowing I had a 1st aid kit in the car I got to a spot where I could turn around to help. While thinking to myself I was thinking worst case scenario...but in my kit I knew I had stuff to help him...but by the time I got back to the trailer they were gone, they just left the trailer sitting there fully on fire....No one else had stopped....there were homes within a few hundred feet...so I dialed 911. Within a min. a cop showed up and he didn't have a extinguisher. I could hear popping noises and see small explosions, finally after 3 min. 4 more cop cars show up, a fire truck, and a ambulance. They quickly put out the fire...then I had to give a 'witness' statement. They were illegals who didn't have the trailer licenced, and there trucks didn't have plates either. (One man had saw them flying out of the neighborhood and said he looked and they weren't there)....I guess through this whole experience it made me wake up inside and it really made me question if I was ready at any given moment to help someone in need. I keep asking myself if I had come back to someone seriously hurt could I have handled it...and I really think I would have been able to. Everything that I learned in Girls camp, to a college course I took, to even training with it with my scouts....I instantly knew it all!! Sorry the photo's aren't better but this was the best I could to without being in harms way. But it is of the trailer on fire.
